Hypnosis does not include loss of control physically or cognitively, or in any other way at any time, during the therapy, quite the opposite. When we relax our mind and body, we can sense them even deeper; all his subtleties become available to observe and understand. And it is precisely because we understand, that we can control.

During the trance you are free to interrupt this state at any time. Sometimes someone rings the doorbell, or you suddenly remember you have the kettle on. Don’t worry! You will be able to react immediately
if you wish so. You’ll be in full control of your
body and mind all the time.

We are also free to choose what to share of the experience we are having with others. In case there is somebody else present like a therapist. It’s our choice at all times.

In the beginning of the practice, it’s usual to fall asleep. As a result of
our busy lives, our bodies are conditioned to respond to relaxation with sleep. But as you keep practicing, you will be able to relax
your body, while keeping your mind perfectly aware. If/when you fall asleep, probably that is what you need the most in that moment. Just trust yourself and try again.

Unfortunatly deep states of self hypnosis, where we experience such as lucid dreaming, deep meditation, vivid visualizations, among others,  is not reachable to the majority of us, without a considerable amount of time of practice. But keep trying, you deserve it!

During the exercises, the more inactive your body is,
less distractions it will bring. More attention and concentration will be put on what you are trying to achieve with the trance. It helps that before you start, you take some time to find a comfortable position to practice. This will reduce the possibility of having to move around during.

Wearing comfortable clothing is a must. And if you have to eat, do it preferably after the hypnosis or way before. If not, eat as light as possible. Also, no stimulants like coffee and/or alcohol are advised. We need our body to be as silent as possible.
Fewer distractions from the body will lead to less chatter from the mind and the trance state will be more easily attained.

Hypnosis is a state that we already experience naturally during our day without even realizing it. An example might be when we read a very interesting book, or watch a film that really captures our attention.
It happens each time we really focus on something in which we have a genuine interest in. For a set time, your conscious mind stops being so scattered or analytical about the rest of our world, and you sincerely connect with the information or activity at hand.

Whether you do it by yourself or with the help of a hypnotherapist, it makes all the difference to have an open and receptive mind. Remember that our subconscious mind works at a deep level, through symbols, that sometimes we won’t be able to understand rationally. It will help enormously if you trust yourself and the process.

Everybody already practice hypnosis. We just have to learn how to use it to our benefit.

We can’t control what happens to us, and I don’t think we’re supposed to anyway. The challenge lies in being as wise as possible when it comes to decision-making moments.

When I really understood that the way I react is the manifestation of my life, I started to pay more attention.

It may seem simple, but this was really a turning point for me.

I understood also, that there is no special magic, accessible to only some of us, to manifest a gratifying life. The magic lies in having infinite possibilities to consciously act, towards what I wish to accomplish.

Honestly, being patient and resilient is a big part of it too.

My name is Cláudia Roque and I’m a Hypnotherapist. I wish to share with you a bit of my story, and once the need for a small revolution in my life.

I was deeply depressed for years without seeing a way out. I tried many different approaches of course, and end up realizing that if the practical side of healing is not aligned with the development of an empowered mindset that can follow it, the transformation will not be efficient.
